What strategies support second language acquisition in a play based environment? How can educator teams make French Immersion student learning visible? These five videos capture the professional learning of some French immersion kindergarten teams in Ontario.

This 2017 Ontario study found that CEFR/DELF-related professional learning is having a profound impact on FSL classroom practice. The report highlights key changes to planning, instruction and assessment that are well poised to strengthen student confidence and proficiency in French.

This resource was developed based on the findings from a collaborative inquiry project on Student Engagement and Well‐Being in the FSL classroom (2016‐2017).

The web conference series offers a variety of perspectives and insights on current issues in French as a Second Language (FSL). This series will address six topics of interest to different audiences, and provide opportunities for rich discussions.

This toolkit has been developed to support school boards, educators and other stakeholders in their efforts to include students with special education needs in FSL programs.

Key topics surrounding the inclusion of students with special education needs and English language learners in FSL programs are discussed from a principal’s perspective. This presentation challenges assumptions about who can benefit from FSL programs and provides options for making FSL more inclusive.

Working Together to Improve Student Proficiency in FSL through CEFR-inspired Practices is the culmination of collaboration with the school boards that participated in this project. The resources will serve as a catalyst for exploration and discussion amongst FSL professionals.
