Two students provide a model for the interactive oral activity before the teacher guides the class in the co-creation of success criteria. Students are encouraged to take risks and use a variety of strategies to express themselves, using French only. Intermediate students demonstrate the effective use of technology to review oral proficiency. The teacher comments that her teaching and assessment practices have been influenced by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) – a tool that promotes the development of relevant, interactive communication skills.
